Orewa College were the first School in New Zealand to controversially make it compulsory for students to own and bring a tablet to School, so it was no surprise this tech savvy School fell in love with School Apps.
This busy School north of Auckland has plenty of different sporting, cultural and academic groups and was struggling to communicate effectively to them all in a timely manner.
Enter School Apps with a custom group push notification solution, allowing students and parents to subscribe to and receive personalised notifications from the School.
For example, if a student is in year 13 and plays for the 1st XI Football team, is a member of the Kapa Haka group and is in the debating team, the student or parent can subscribe to these groups within the app so staff can send instant notifications such as football practise cancellations, Mufti day reminders and Kapa Haka trips.
